Savignac School >> Network Centre >> Corporate >> Employment Assistance >> Albane Prieto Interview

Gentle and yet firm, calm and still full of energy, Albane answered our questions... at ease.
Albane Prieto: «I remember during my first week when I was asked what my professional plan was. I was 20, and I said HR Manager, with a total conviction that HR was what suited me best (even though I really new nothing about it). I quickly realised that the sales side was missing in that function. I did my internship followed by a short term contract with Potel & Chabot, as Project Leader where I was in sales and learnt how to be receptive.
Then I had an opportunity to become First Assistant Shop Manager and then Shop Manager at Häagen-Dazs: I learnt an American-style management where results and efficiency are very important but are still below CUSTOMER SERVICE. I loved leading a team and in particular I enjoyed recruiting, adjusting... well I guess I loved helping the team live and evolve.»
Albane Prieto: «After three years I decided to get out of operational work and to approach recruiting firms. Once again I did not do things the normal way. I managed to get into the recruiting department at Manpower. Now I have a combined position in sales and in recruiting. I search for contracts and then try to find the perfect candidate. I love this job because of the great variety of clients (industry, supermarket chains, small and medium companies) and the different candidates. I have a very autonomous position because I go through the entire process from the company telling me their needs to finding the right candidate. I need challenges. They motivate me to reach my objectives and, sometimes, even exceed them.»
Albane Prieto: «First of all, the school taught me how to work within a team and to put each individual strengths to good use. My present job requires of me to understand what is needed, to analyse the capacities of each candidates, but also to “feel” if the candidate suits the company’s needs. I acquire that ability at Savignac. Talent alone does not get you the job you want; you need to know how to put it forward. To establish a win/win situation between a company and the best suited candidate, I need to: listen, analyse and draw conclusions, with commercial judgement ».
Albane Prieto: «I met so many great people at Ecole de Savignac; people who have helped me in many ways. Of course, the P14 students remain dear to my heart. But we must also evolve with our time... Today a network is a large intranet: Viadeo, the Savignac’s Newsletter, calling Françoise to keep in contact, going to the 20th Anniversary of Savignac back in June... »
