Final Year project
Aims:
To enable students to:
- Critically analyse their performance within the world of work, using the concept and techniques of reflexive practice
- Synthesise the skills and theory learnt in academic studies as consequence of taking a Placement
- Prepare and complete intellectually demanding individual research project
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the module students will be able to :
- Demonstrate personal development through the concept and techniques of reflexive practice
- Demonstrate critical evaluation whilst integrating theory with practice in a range of business situations
- Critically appraise the relevance and significance of data collected with regard to their learning objectives
- Apply arrange of primary and secondary research techniques
- Demonstrate skills of synthesis and analysis
- Formally present a portfolio of learning through self-evaluation and critical reflection
- Seek and make use of feedback from their supervisor
Content
The substantive content of each inal Year Placement will differ and be a matter for the students and their Final Year Placement Project supervisors to decide upon in consultation. The research for each Final Year Placement Project is strongly linked to the Research Methods module at Level 2 and will involve many common elements, in particular the following:
- Developing objectives as the basis of the Project
- Applying arrange of research methods
- Writing up in a dear and analytical manner
- Presenting the project as a professional career document
Teaching and learning Strategies:
- A total of 48 weeks Placement (full-time paid employment) with academic supervision from University visit whilst on Placement.
