The University of Brighton is one of the best known universities in the world within the hospitality sector. It has three campuses. The Eastbourne campus houses the Hospitality Management department where students are taught about the value of education, professional dedication and attention to detail. This six-month period helps students develop confidence in themselves, improve their motivation, and, more generally, get to know themselves better both as individuals and as future managers.
« We began envisaging the European BA back in 2008 at a meeting between Roger Haigh from the École de Savignac, our Spanish partners and ourselves. We wanted to offer an internationally recognised diploma based on the accreditation of several European universities.
According to the terms of our agreement, the École de Savignac recruits the students, mainly French, and handles the first two years of the programme.
The first 19 students arrived in September 2009. From March 2012, the École de Savignac had the idea of expanding the programme and transforming it into the European Academy of Hospitality Management. From there, the partnership with the Angell Business School in Germany developed, coming into effect in September 2012. We also incorporated the Benedict Business and Hotel Management School in Lucerne, Switzerland, and Wittenborg University in The Netherlands into this programme. In the future, this will enable students to have their diploma recognised by six leading institutions in six different countries.”
