If you have a European passport, you don’t need a visa to work or study in France. However, please ensure that you have a valid passport for the duration of your stay in France.
If you do not have a European passport, you probably need a visa to work or study in France. Students are responsible for ensuring that they obtain a visa in good time.
It is important that you check with your Embassy in order to find out what type of visa is required. This can depend on the type of exchange and the duration of your visit. The conditions for granting visas vary and depend on the type of visa you are applying for.
It is important to start this process well in advance of your stay as the process can be long.
The aim of this page is only to inform students and to and to explain the steps to follow in order to obtain a visa for working or studying in France.
This information is provided by third parties who are not connected to École Supérieure Internationale de Savignac. Even if we do our best to provide correct and up to date information, we cannot be held responsible for the content of these internet pages.
The passport must be valid long enough to cover the stay in the Schengen area.
During the processing of the visa application, certain formalities (making an appointment, submitting the application) may be entrusted to service providers. In this case, additional costs are to be expected. Contact the relevant French consulate for more information.
We are also partners of Campus France who will be able to help you.
In addition, undertaking salaried employment is subject to specific procedures that require a work permit to be obtained before applying for a visa.

All the addresses provided are within 10 km of the school and are on a shared basis. École de Savignac does not secure accommodation for you but helps by providing a list of hosts.
If you have been successful and can come and study at École Supérieure Internationale de Savignac, you will receive a formal letter of acceptance which will include a list of hosts. Once you have received this letter, you can look for accommodation.

Lunches are obligatory on working days on campus. A schedule is provided at the time of registration.
All students must have their own insurance. This insurance must cover you for medical care, including medical emergencies, your accommodation and public liability.
We advise all students to arrive at Savignac-les-Eglises between 9.00 and 18.00 from Monday to Friday. The team will be available to welcome you during these times. They will give you the official documents you need and show you round the campus.
If you think you will arrive outside these times, please let us know in advance.
If you are coming to register for the year, please contact your teaching assistant at Savignac.

If you come by train, you can let us know what time you are arriving and we can come and collect you by car at either Périgueux or Thiviers train station.
Once on campus, we ask that you follow the same rules and regulations as other students at École de Savignac. Business attire in accordance with industry standards is required at the School from 9.00 to 18.00.
T-shirts, jeans, shorts, Bermuda shorts, swimsuits, trainers, flip-flops, espadrilles, etc. are not accepted in class, during tutorials or on event days. The wearing of headgear is forbidden, as is the ostentatious wearing of piercings and, for men, earrings.
Casual dress is permitted from 18.00 onwards if there are no classes and/or guests on campus. We recommend that you bring warm clothes with you as winters can be quite cold in the Dordogne.
The majority of mobile phones work in France. We recommend that you check with your phone provider before you leave, to see if your mobile will work here. Otherwise, you can buy “pay as you go” phones locally.
