After a first article in which Baptiste shared his arrival in Hong Kong, today he takes us into the heart of his daily student life at PolyU. Between exciting courses, culinary discoveries and urban explorations, his experience perfectly illustrates the unique opportunity offered by theÉcole de Savignac : to study abroad. Every year, our students can fly off to one of our 20 partner universities around the world, enriching their academic careers while living an unforgettable human adventure.

Baptiste's experience at PolyU (continued)

We integrated well into this new city and its rhythm. As an exchange student, a typical day in Hong Kong is divided between the classroom and exploring the city. The timetable is very flexible at polyU, which gives me plenty of time to attend classes and visit the city in the same day. It's also easy geographically speaking, as Hong Kong is a densely populated city with excellent transport links: it's great fun to wander around and discover every nook and cranny.

In the mornings, I go to class for 2-3 hours. The classrooms are modern and well-equipped; the teachers are passionate and engaging, which makes the classes very interesting. I take courses in finance, RM, design, resort management and even Chinese! Being able to choose the modules makes the experience so much more attractive, and ensures that you won't be disappointed by certain modules that might be imposed on you.

I don't eat in the morning, so by 12 o'clock my stomach is screaming for food, and that's just as well, because Hong Kong is a foodie's paradise! If, like me, food is a pillar of your travel experience, this is the city for you.

In addition to a street dedicated to restaurants next to the university, the city is full of surprises, from street stalls to out-of-the-way buildings. At lunchtime, I've got my usual: head for the alley next to the university, it's quick and convenient. Don't be late, though, as all the neighboring offices have their lunch break and it's hard to find a place.

Here are some typical dishes to be found nearby:

Seeing the photos again makes me nostalgic, and I haven't even left yet!

Of course, a good meal can't end without a sweet note: I've got into the bad habit of ending my lunches with a "sweet treat", an iced coffee, a matcha or a peach iced tea, accompanied by a little sweet treat, a pineapple bun or an egg tart! It's no match for our French pastries and viennoiseries, but it can be a pleasant surprise!

After that, I stay in the university library or in the corridors, or I go back to my room to work and revise my lessons.

The day doesn't end there: Hong Kong is a night-time beauty. In the evening, I go out either to go climbing or for a walk. The city at night is magnificent. My favorite spot is undoubtedly Victoria Bay! It's a splendid sight that never ceases to amaze me! Probably the most expensive image I'll take with me when I leave!
